I almost lost all my savings

Today I received a mail from Citibank (a belgian bank company), telling me there were problems with my bank account, and I had to login to confirm some things in order to set things right. I can only say that their customer support is the best, it's like they really care about us...

I was a little suspicious though:

  • it was a .co.uk domain (shouldn't it be a .be domain?)
  • the mail was in French (and I'm Dutch)
  • the mail had a lot of spelling mistakes, and even unknown, arabic looking characters
  • the website asked me for my pin code
  • I don't even have a Citibank acocunt!

Phishing alert! Good thing I'm an Anti-Phishing Champion, or else I wouldn't have noticed this...
This time, I submitted this site to Google (in Firefox: Help > Report Web Forgery...). If there's one thing that's great about Google, it's their sense of humor:

Google says thank you for reporting a fraudulent website
